What to Expect with Mohawk Carpet - Sales, Installation & Maintenance

The staff at Stepping Stones is prepared to discuss the pros and cons of every carpet product we sell, including the value vs. competition, the long term quality and durability of each carpet brand, and expectations of the carpet installation process. Below are a few frequently asked questions about carpet installation and maintenance.

What Do I Need to Do Before My Carpet is Installed?

The best way to prepare for carpet installations is to make sure that all your small loose items are packed up, the tops of dressers cleared off, your electronics are disconnected, and everything is moved from your closet floors. Just move loose items to a room that isn’t going to be carpeted and is out of the way of the installers.

Do I Need to Be Available the Day of the Carpet Installation?

We would prefer the Cedar Rapids homeowner to be present at the start of the installation to go over any details of the installation as well as verify the carpet color and brand you selected is correct. It is also important that any pets, children or other obstacles be removed from the work site.

What Should I Expect During the Carpet Installation?

Our installers will need an area where they can cut the carpet and store their tools during the installation. Please keep in mind that your home will be a construction project and can be quite noisy and disrupted during the installation. We will always do the best we can to complete your home project in a timely and professional fashion!

Will Carpet Seams be Visible Following Installation?

It's important to know that while a good installer can minimize visible carpet seams fairly well, it's almost impossible to hide them completely. That said, please let our staff know if you feel that certain areas need attention. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase!
